For decades I worked in the corporate world, as advertising executive, copywriter, marketing and sales leader, and management consultant.
As I got older I began to miss the close relationships and sense of shared accomplishment that comes with helping smaller businesses succeed.
As a life-long B2B business writer, I've written thousands of stories, articles, blog posts, web pages, email campaigns, newsletters, and case studies on marketing and sales leadership, business strategy, and building competitive advantage.
These days, communicating complex business ideas through engaging storytelling (copy writing) is what I like to do best.
Combining the best of all those years of hands-on experience, I founded Brand Arts to help forward-looking Service Businesses build consistent sales, unforgettable brands, and lasting client relationships.
My 5-step approach to persuasive copy, combines powerful marketing strategies with compelling marketing messages that clearly communicate your value at every point in the evolving client relationship.
Outside of business my writings range from articles on building airplanes, to sustainable business growth, and the occasional classic science fiction story.
In my (much) younger days, I played the infield in the American Legion baseball league, was a reasonably competitive racquetball player, and an avid snow skier. I've been designing and building competition-winning aircraft since I was a teenager.
I have a BA in Marketing Communications / Journalism from Southern Illinois University.
While at SIU, I had the extraordinary privilege of taking courses in advanced problem-solving, under internationally recognized futurist, R. Buckminster (Bucky) Fuller. And yes, Bucky's lectures were peppered with the same outrageously run-on sentences so familiar to his readers, but his brilliant insights were well worth the concentration required.
And just for the record, I'm told that my sense of humor tends toward the ironic (though ironically, I'm not quite sure what that means).
